Michael Chesworth

Michael Chesworth began illustrating professionally as a teen, earned a BFA in illustration from the Parsons School of Design, and has been working in publishing ever since. In that time, he has illustrated over forty books for children, and written and illustrated three picture books of his own. His second book, Archibald Frisby (FSG), was chosen as a Featured Book (read by Arnold Stang) on PBS’s Reading Rainbow. Inventor McGregor (FSG), written by Kathleen Pelley, with his watercolor paintings, won the 2007 Colorado Book Award for best picture book. He had the honor of re-illustrating the revival editions of the world-famous Pippi Longstocking books by Astrid Lindgren for Viking/Penguin. He is also the illustrator of the Frieda B. series (by the same author as Good Dogs, Great Listeners). Since 2012, he has been writing and drawing "Spider & the Gang," a serialized comic found on the pages of each issue of Spider Magazine (Cricket Media/ePals).

He lives in Amherst, Massachusetts.
